Lug Nut Extraction
- Assessment of stripped, rounded, locked, or rusted lug nuts
- Dedicated extractor sockets and breaker bars sized to the nut
- Removal without damaging the wheel, studs, or hub
- Wheel-lock removal when the key is lost
- Tire change or wheel remount once the nut is off
- Replacement lug nut installed where needed
A stripped or locked lug nut turns a five-minute tire change into a roadside standstill. The socket spins, the wheel-lock key is missing, or years of rust have swollen the nut so nothing grips it. Boutte's carries a dedicated set of lug-nut extractor sockets — hardened, tapered sockets that bite into a rounded nut — along with breaker bars and the leverage to break a seized nut loose without cracking the wheel or shearing the stud.
We start by reading the damage: a rounded nut, a spun wheel-lock, and a rust-welded nut each get a different tool. Once it's off, we finish whatever you called for — swap the flat, remount the wheel, or install a fresh nut so the wheel torques down safely. Most of the time this is a shoulder-side fix, not a tow. Call (713) 253-5088 and tell Boutte which wheel and what happened, and we'll roll with the right sockets.
“A seized lug nut doesn't mean a tow — most of the time we back it out right there on the shoulder.”
